About Me
My name is Sverre "Stephen" Slotfeldt,
and I was born in Norway in 1966.
I moved to this great country in 1988,
and completed my MBA at the University of
San Francisco, California. Since then I
have been working as an accounting and
tax professional in the San Francisco Bay
Area.
Although I have spent several years
consulting with large corporations,
my real passion has always been
helping the small business "guy" or "gal"
build their business.
My Basic Business Philosophy is
simple: Business owners should first
find a way to be successful doing what they
are good at and (hopefully) what they love.
Then follows money. Then and only
then should they start focusing on reducing
the taxes on that money.
Most business owners are intimidated by tax
rules. They find it confusing, or they get
overwhelmed. The purpose of this site is to make the
subject of taxes and the IRS as simple
to understand as possible.
I started this site as a hobby project in
2001. Since then, more than 10,000 people
have subscribed to my e-Zine,
The Biztax eGazette
. This publication is an easy-to-read eZine
with tax tips, articles and tax humor.
I believe that one of the reasons for the
eGazette's success is that the information
is easy to digest. Step by step, the reader
adds to his or her knowledge. As each tax
tip or strategy is added on to their arsenal
of knowledge and applied to their
business, their tax bill comes down.
If you have read this far, I would like to
hear from you! This site is my labor of love, and it warms
my heart to get messages from my readers.
It would be great if you would take a moment
to rate my site:
