2001 Tax Table
Here's is a link to the 2001 Tax Table for
form 1040 filers.
Note: Use these tables only if your 2001 taxable income
was less than $100,000. If your taxable income was more
than $100,000 you must use the tax rate schedules on the last
page (p.13) of this document.
When you use the table to calculate your
tax, make sure to refer to the correct
column for your filing status. This is
where many people make mistakes. For example, if your filing status are married filing jointly, then you should refer to that column. Using the correct column is important, because your tax rate depends on
your filing status. Similarly, people who file as married filing separately generally
are taxed at a higher rate than people filing as married filing jointly.
